Live Drop

I'm not sure I would want to say ratings drop is temporary.

That's what A&E is saying with reports of the drops they have had since the start of June. It comes from the cancellation of Live PD. Just for context, prior to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter crap, this channel was bent on airing that and The First 48 constantly. They canned a lot of programs for Live and for the last two plus years it worked. You have to understand that cable ratings are different. Anything over a million or two is very good. Live was pulling close to two million viewers.

Since the cancellation, there has been a lot less First 48. Constant reruns of Storage Wars and one or two other programs. Hoarders every once in a while on weekends. Maybe some movies if they do air some. I think A&E is trying to make themselves look less like a network that airs lots of police matter and it has backfired. The fact that the numbers from what I read dropped by nearly 50 percent, that's huge for a cable network to go down to less than half a million. They don't have anything original airing that's new. What is there?

I'm not going to say A&E is going to fold. But people like real life stuff. That's why stuff like 60 Days In worked. Leah Remini's Scientology show was getting nominations for tackling the infamous group and going after them for their cult like behavior. Crime stuff is a big deal. You lose these kind of programs, what do you expect? I'd like to see where the channel is at the start of 2021 because if they can't fix their issues, this becomes more than a temporary drop in ratings.

Fake stuff like Storage Wars will not keep them going and they can't bend over for protesters similar to what the NBA, NFL, and MLB are doing.
